The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Application and component deployment: This involves deploying applications and/or application components and configuring all their resources in the environments and platforms described, following the operating guidelines developed by the systems departments and found in the knowledge management tool.

Monitoring and controlling the operational availability of the various systems and all their products. This check will be performed continuously using the tools installed for this purpose.

Management and control of software components to ensure their proper functioning (optimization and load balancing, modification of initiators, lines, nodes, etc.) following the standards developed by the systems departments.

Operation on different platforms using menus to perform processes in different environments, according to the available operating guides (updating databases, loading an application, etc.) and documented in the knowledge management tool.

Video wall monitoring of the proper functioning of machines, architectures, services, and applications, using established tools. Any incident detected in this system will be immediately reported for resolution following established procedures and channels.

Resolving incidents, managed through the corporate incident management tool, related to both user problems and alerts generated by the system and service monitoring tools used. These will be resolved following the guidelines established in the knowledge management tool.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Operation, monitoring, and control of the z/OS operating system and all products listed on the z/OS operating system technology platform.

Use of the mainframe environment (z/OS operating system) lifecycle tools EMMA, SILVER, and PASAREVA. Execution of queries with the Q+ tool against Oracle and Teradata.

Operation, monitoring, and control of Solaris, Windows Server, SUSE, Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems, as well as all products listed on the Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems and desktop systems.

Operation and execution of scripts for databases included in the Oracle technology platform and other open databases.

Operation, script execution, and control of the products included in the technological platforms for intranet application management, Internet application management, and Agile development.

Monitoring of systems and applications with the products included in the technological platform.

Administration, configuration, and control of the planning tools included in the technological platforms for z/OS operating systems and intranet application management (Control-M and Enterprise Manager).

Knowledge of batch processes for database updates and scheduling. Statistical plans: Adabas-Oracle-Teradata loads.

Systems programming in REXX and JCL for z/OS operating systems and in C/C++ for Linux and Windows operating systems. Flowcharts.

Operation of  file sharing systems with other entities:EDITRAN, IFI, IFIweb

Uploading and downloading files from production platforms to network drives and cloud resources using secure FTP.

Installation, cabling, and commissioning of all equipment included in the physical environment.

Administration and management of change management, inventory, and warehouse tools, including Remedy.
