Youth and Family Support Specialist II

YOU Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth and Family Support Specialist II to provide in-home and community-based services to youth and families involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF). This role is essential in promoting safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families facing complex challenges such as poverty, trauma, and behavioral health needs.
Pay: $25.25/hour

Generous Accrued Paid Vacation: 3 weeks in your first year!Vacation Cash-Out Option3 Paid Personal Days11 Paid Holidays Accrued Paid Sick Time Responsibilities Deliver flexible, trauma-informed services in homes and community settingsSupport caregivers in building protective factors and preventing out-of-home placementsUse Motivational Interviewing to engage families and promote retentionFacilitate connections with kin and supportive social networksAssist youth in accessing education, employment, housing, and healthcare resourcesProvide opportunities for youth to engage in recreational and developmental activitiesParticipate in ISP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teamsMaintain accurate documentation in agency and state systemsCommunicate regularly with DCF case workers and supervisorsAttend staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training QualificationsEducation & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field required plus 1–3 years of related experience; or 5+ years working with youth and families in child welfare or community-based settings Certifications: CPR/First Aid preferredDriver’s License: Standard Class C or D license requiredOther Requirements:Reliable transportationAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekendsMust pass CORI, SORI, driving record, and DCF background checksFamiliarity with Massachusetts child welfare system preferredCommitment to equity, inclusion, and honoring lived experienceSkills and Knowledge:Child development and family-centered careStrong verbal and written communicationCultural competence and trauma-informed practiceCounseling and relationship-building skillsAssessment and documentation proficiencyAbility to collaborate across systems and disciplinesWhy Join YOU Inc.?
