Job Posting: Yoga Instructor (Part-Time / Hourly)

Location: Morgan Park Sports Center
Reports To: Wellness Coordinator
Hourly Rate: $19.00/hour

Position Overview

Morgan Park Sports Center, managed by ASM Global, is seeking a certified and passionate Yoga Instructor to lead group yoga classes in a dynamic, inclusive, and outdoor-friendly environment. The ideal candidate is experienced in teaching yoga to diverse populations and is committed to promoting wellness, mindfulness, and physical health. This is a part-time hourly role requiring a minimum of 2 classes per week, with flexibility for daytime, weekend, and holiday availability.

Responsibilities

Instruct scheduled yoga classes, beginning and ending on time

Provide clear, safe, and engaging instruction for all levels

Educate participants on breathing techniques, proper alignment, and mindfulness

Prepare appropriate music, props, and materials before each session

Offer posture modifications and support to meet individual needs

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive class environment

Ensure class safety and adherence to all facility policies

Report any concerns, incidents, or equipment needs to management

Complete other job responsibility and duties as assigned

Qualifications

Current Yoga Alliance or equivalent yoga certification required

CPR/AED certification (Red Cross or equivalent) required

Previous experience teaching yoga in a group setting

Knowledge of human anatomy, yoga philosophy, and safe teaching techniques

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Ability to motivate and engage participants of all skill levels

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, stretching, and demonstrating postures

Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds and assist participants as needed

Endurance to instruct active classes for extended periods
