**Job Title: Yard Worker** **Job Description** The Lumber Yard Worker is responsible for loading, unloading, and storing lumber and building materials. This role supports customers, drivers, and coworkers by ensuring the yard is organized, clean, and operates safely and efficiently. **Responsibilities** + Load and unload lumber and building materials from trucks and customer vehicles. + Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials safely. + Accurately pull orders and stage for delivery or pickup. + Assist customers in locating and loading products. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard area. + Check incoming materials for quality and accuracy. + Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times. + Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues. + Assist in cycle counts and inventory control tasks as needed. + Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. **Essential Skills** + General labor experience. + Forklift operation skills. + Loading and unloading proficiency. + Experience with heavy lifting. + Background in construction, production, landscaping, or yard work. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. + Previous experience in a lumber yard or construction materials environment is a plus. + Ability to lift up to 100 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in various weather conditions. + Basic math and measurement skills. + Forklift certification or willingness to become certified. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a long-term position with opportunities for growth and development in a supportive work environment. **Work Environment** Work outdoors in various weather conditions, requiring standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
