OverviewThe Yard Hostler is responsible for yard tractors, tractors and straight trucks to position equipment to and from the yard and warehouse. Additional duties include operating warehouse power equipment and other assigned tasks when needed.
Primary Responsibilities Perform pre-trip inspection and inspect trucks thoroughlyMove all trucks in and around the premisesAssist in picking products for production from various warehouse locationsOperate all warehouse equipmentAssist in picking products for production from various warehouse locationsTrack all containers coming onto and leaving the premisesPerform acceptance of inbound loads (per company standards)Close and security seal truck after loading is completedPerform other related duties as assignedAdditional Primary Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experienceMust have a current Class A Commercial Driver s licenseAbility to regularly lift and/or move more than 60 pounds (lbs.) repetitivelyPhysical Demands Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 60 pounds (lbs.) repetitively
