Position: Yard Associate – Shipping Department (Inside/Outside)
Location: Orillia, ON
Shift: Monday–Thursday 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (OT Possible)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm

Job Summary:

We are currently hiring a Yard Associate for our client in Orillia to work in the Shipping Department in a combined indoor/outdoor role. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling and shipping very large and heavy materials (up to 4000 lbs). This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in a lumber yard or industrial yard setting who takes pride in their work and values safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a forklift to move, load, and unload large materials safely

Support shipping and receiving activities, including preparing shipments

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse area

Handle oversized and heavy objects efficiently (up to 4000 lbs)

Assist with inventory control and stock organization

Train on or operate a Zoom Boom if certified or willing to be certified

Work both inside and outside in various weather conditions

Qualifications:

Valid Forklift Certification (required) – forklift assessment will be completed on site

Experience handling large/heavy materials 

Previous lumber yard or industrial yard experience strongly preferred

Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round

Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items safely

Zoom Boom certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)

Positive attitude, dependable, safety-focused, and takes pride in high-quality work
