Wound Nurse

Nursing is what we do! Salem Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Wound Nurse for a 210 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Salem, VA.

The primary purpose of the job position is to develop, implement, and supervise day-to-day wound care program of the facility in accordance with established nursing standards, the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility and the requirements of current federal, state, and local standard governing the facility. This position does require every other weekend OR an on call rotation.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provides direct care to patients and supervises and directs nursing staff in accordance with state, federal, and MFA guidelines. Communicates patient status to the Unit Manager and DON. Assists in the supervision, orientation, and training of the nursing staff. Participates in the patient care planning conference with other disciplines. Identifies patient goals and approaches.

Job qualifications include but are not limited to:

Current license with Virginia Board of Nursing to practice as an LPN or RN. One (1) year of previous experience in the field of would nursing. Previous long-term care experience is preferred. Wound care certification desirable Management/leadership experience preferred. Requires frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, stooping, kneeling, etc.
