We’re looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Workers’ Compensation Program Manager to help us effectively manage, investigate, and resolve claims. In this role, you’ll develop strategies and action plans that reduce costs, improve processes, and minimize risk. You’ll identify potential exposures, quantify their impact, and implement policies and procedures that strengthen our program.

You’ll report to the Risk Manager and collaborate closely with Safety, Legal, Segment teams, Human Resources, insurance brokers, and Third Party Administrators (TPAs) in a highly cooperative environment.

 

What you’ll be doing:

Manage the end-to-end workers’ compensation claims process in partnership with the Third-Party Administrator (TPA), ensuring timely claim reporting, thorough information gathering from Segment and Unit teams, and effective incident investigations. Maintain consistent and proactive communication with Unit Management, Segment Leadership, and Human Resources to drive efficient claims management and reinforce workers’ comp policies and procedures. Track, monitor, and update Lost Time workers’ compensation claims data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support the Return-to-Work program, facilitating employee reintegration and meeting all internal reporting requirements. Evaluate the adequacy of reserves and approve settlements that resolve claims in a cost-effective, timely manner. Oversee and coordinate litigation, providing guidance to TPAs and attorneys to ensure alignment with Elior North America’s expectations and best practices in workers’ compensation case management. Analyze workers’ comp claims data to identify trends and partner with the Risk Manager, Safety, Legal, and Corporate Support teams to recommend targeted strategies for risk mitigation and cost reduction. Administer monopolistic state workers’ compensation programs, ensuring compliance with state-specific requirements. Create and deliver internal reports using claims data from TPA databases or RMIS systems, presented in PowerPoint or Excel for leadership review. Host internal calls with Leadership and HR to review open workers’ comp claims, progress toward resolution, and key action items. Coordinate and lead workers’ compensation and risk management training sessions for managers and HR partners, as needed.

 

What We’re looking for:

5+ years’ workers’ compensation claims handling experience in a carrier, TPA, or risk management setting. Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, HR, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of workers’ comp insurance coverage, investigation, and claims procedures. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and investigative skills. High attention to detail with proven accuracy in claims data management. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and RMIS systems. Strong time management skills; able to handle multiple claims and priorities effectively.

Compensation

Compensation for this role ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
