Job Description
The Workers Compensation Plant Representative I handles workers' compensation claims at a manufacturing plant, focusing on accurate claim setup, high-quality customer service, and effective loss cost management. This role investigates incidents, manages claim files from initial intake through resolution, and collaborates with internal partners to support safe and timely return-to-work plans. The position is fully onsite and requires strong administrative, analytical, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and enter new workers' compensation claims into the claim management system, ensuring all claim coding is accurate and files are thoroughly documented.Perform critical technical claim tasks, including plant investigations and 3-point contacts with involved parties.Conduct interviews with claimants, employers, medical professionals, legal counsel, and witnesses to gather detailed information on each claim.Prepare clear and comprehensive investigation summaries based on collected information.Prepare claim files and supporting documentation for review by outside counsel when needed.Assist in managing all elements of claim files to help reduce or maintain medical costs, lost time duration, and litigation expenses.Participate in case management meetings and collaborate with medical, human resources, and labor teams to develop and support return-to-work plans for workers' compensation and related absences.Support other claim representatives by assisting with larger or more complex claims as needed.Process medical and related expense payments accurately and in a timely manner.Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders throughout the claims process.Provide administrative support related to claim handling, documentation, and follow-up activities.Organize and prioritize daily workload to manage multiple claims and tasks efficiently.Essential Skills
At least 1 year of workers' compensation experience in New York.At least 1 year of customer service experience.Experience handling workers' compensation claims in an office or plant setting.Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality claims handling and client support.Solid administrative support skills, including documentation, data entry, and file management.Ability to use a claim management system to enter, track, and update claim information accurately.High school diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to interpret and analyze complex claim and medical information.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment with medical, human resources, and labor partners.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple priorities.Ability to work a flexible work schedule when business needs require it.Ability to maintain professional and positive client relationships.Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service in a claims or administrative role.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.38 - $25.38/hr.
