**Description**
**PeaceHealth is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Manager. This remote role requires the incumbent work & reside in OR, WA or Alaska by date of hire.**
Facilitates the workers' compensation claims process for PeaceHealth. Responsibilities include working closely with caregivers, management, insurance carriers/Third Party Administrator (TPA), caregiver health and departmental staff to manage workers' compensation claim services.
**What you will enjoy:**
+ Facilitates and coordinates the workers’ compensation claims management process across PeaceHealth.
+ Works with caregivers during the claims process to coordinate the claim, o return the caregiver to their job. Reviews and facilitates temporary modified work, monitors ongoing needs and approvals through insurer/TPA.
+ Works with Caregiver Health & Safety, Human Resources and other key stakeholders to facilitate fact finding investigations of workers’ compensation claims and other associated issues.
+ Works with insurance carriers/TPAs to proactively coordinate workers’ compensation claims in the most medically beneficial and cost-effective manner.
+ Works with insurer/TPA on any litigation related to claims.
+ Provides guidance and education on work related injuries / illnesses to PeaceHealth caregivers. Partners with managers/supervisors in coordinating their employee’s workers’ compensation claims and provides training as needed. Serves as subject matter expert regarding jurisdictional workers’ compensation laws (including litigation) and OSHA regulations
+ Analyzes loss runs to identify trends and exposures and provides recommendations for process improvements; development of strategic plans for improved program outcomes and cost containment.
+ Updates the workers’ compensation claims database as appropriate to maintain regulatory compliance.
+ Reviews all OSHA 300 and 300A logs for accuracy and completion of OSHA BLS survey.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**What you will bring:**
+ College Coursework in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years Workers’ compensation claims management experience, preferably in a health care setting.
+ Workers Comp Claims Exam Certification.
+ Certified Disability Management Specialist preferred.
**Additional Skills:**
+ Proficient expertise in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of workers’ compensation database preferred.
+ Knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance laws and legal terminology.
+ Good written and verbal skills.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
+ Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
+ Sedentary work.
+ Predominantly operates in an office environment.
+ Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
+ The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $77,584 – $116,313 annually. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
