Workers Compensation Analyst

**Summary of Position **
This position will play a key role in managing Family Dollar's workers' compensation claims. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can provide strategic guidance and operational support to ensure the best possible outcomes for our associates and the company. In this role, you will partner with Risk Management and Human Resources to develop and implement strategies that support injured workers and enhance their overall experience.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Provide claims advocacy and support for injured employees.
+ Developing strategies for cost-effective claim resolution, including negotiating settlements and coordinating subrogation efforts.
+ Oversee and manage outside counsel, TPA adjusters, and other claims related vendors.
+ Assist with litigation by coordinating with Claims Manager, outside counsel, and claims adjusters.
+ Provide consistent and frequent status updates to Claims Manager throughout the life of assigned claims.
+ Participate in claims review and compile monthly/quarterly status reports on all assigned claims.
+ Conduct ongoing litigation reviews, recommending strategies for optimal or early resolution.
+ Support decisions related to reserves, settlement, return to work, subrogation, and nurse case management
+ Collaborate with Director and Manager to conduct research and remain actively aware of industry best practices
+ Work on special projects and perform miscellaneous duties as required of position
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.**
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4+ years of multi state workers compensation (complex, litigated cases) experience with insurance carrier, third party administrator, corporate or insurance broker role in similar operating environment
• Strong analytical skills related to investigations, claims strategies and claims reviews
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to handle difficult situations
• Strong attention to details, including regular follow up on action items
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical treatment protocols, and legal proceedings
• Intermediate technology skills related to Excel, queries, and insurance company risk management information system
**Desired Qualifications**
• Professional Insurance Designation – SCLA, ARM, CPCU, etc.
• Retail experience a plus
• Human resources, OSHA, and/or Safety experience
