The Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration The Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers’ compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. We do not process individual workers' compensation claims or issue benefit payments. AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES: •Acting with Ethics and Integrity: The ability to be consistent, honest, and a trustworthy steward of State resources. •Displaying Expertise:The ability to exhibit specialized skills or knowledge gained from experience or training. •Making Accurate Judgements:The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards. •Managing Resources:The ability to ensure resources such as time, money, and people are utilized appropriately to result in maximum business value Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in worker's compensation claims or dispute resolution, injury investigation, insurance claims examining, or statistical analysis; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: •Ordering the Rights and Responsibilities brochures annually, and updating them as needed. •Produce detailed reports with high statistical validity to support leadership decision-making. •Fulfill public and non-public records requests from OWCA’s hearing records and databases (JustWare, FileNet, Infeauxnet, WC00, etc). •Audit and reconcile deposit records and Compliance Cash Receipt reports to ensure payment accuracy for record services. •Maintain tracking spreadsheets and prepare weekly and monthly unit activity summaries. •Other duties as assigned Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a Probational or a Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a Promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency-wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available. This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG). It may be filled as a Workers’ Compensation Compliance Analyst 1 or 2, at which the vacancy is filled, and will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected.
