This role supports the design, implementation and continuous improvement of time-off and leave policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with organizational objectives. The role also serves as a liaison between the HR, Payroll and Technology teams, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting and resolution of absence-related issues. **RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS** **Essential Duties** As a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service and Core Values is a fundamental part of this job. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows: + Act as the primary point of contact for all Workday Absence-related inquiries and issues, including time off plans, leave of absence (LOA) policies and related business processes + Partner with cross-functional teams—including HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Compliance—to ensure accurate configuration and administration of absence plans and entitlements + Monitor regulatory changes to ensure system compliance with applicable laws, standards and guidelines, while performing absence audits, data integrity checks and generating reports and dashboards to support compliance and operational decision-making + Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues in Workday Absence with IT + Collaborate with Workday system administrators to identify and report issues, test proposed configuration changes in the sandbox environment and verify updates post-production + Collaborate with Workday system administrators on testing, upgrades, and release readiness for new Absence features + Provide ongoing support for process improvements and automation opportunities related to absence tracking + Deliver training and support materials for HR partners and managers on absence management processes + Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met + Perform other duties as assigned **Core Competencies** + Demonstrated ability to configure, troubleshoot and optimize absence-related functionality in Workday + Proven success partnering with cross functional teams to align system functionality with organizational needs and regulatory requirements + Skilled in monitoring regulatory updates, conducting audits and maintaining system compliance through robust reporting, data validation and documentation practices + Experience driving continuous improvement through automation, system upgrades and end-user training, ensuring scalable and efficient absence management processes **Experience and Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field; will consider 5+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree + Workday Pro certification or other Workday credentials a plus + 5+ years of experience supporting Workday Absence, Time Off or comparable HRIS functionality + Strong understanding of leave and time off policies, including FMLA, state-specific leave laws, Canadian leave regulations and employer-sponsored plans + Experience developing Workday reports, including custom reports, calculated fields and dashboards + Hands-on experience with Workday Time Tracking and Payroll integrations + Experience working in a shared services or multi-location organization is preferred + Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences and formats + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Some after-hours or weekend support may be required during major updates, implementation cycles, or system launches. **ABOUT SUNRISE** Ready to take the next step and make a bigger impact than you ever imagined?
