Wireless Engineer
Job Description A company in Englewood, CO is seeking Wireless Engineer professional to join their team for a one-year contract with potential of extension. There is a 5 days on-site requirement for this team. This organization is responsible for the Radio Access Network (RAN) and 5G architecture, infrastructure, and products. It involves designing and assessing software architecture and platforms to demonstrate proofs of concept, as well as working with emerging technologies through research, impact analysis, and validation via lab evaluations and potential field trials. The position requires creating tools and processes to support technology innovation and proof-of-concept demonstrations, while also assessing new product requirements and developing technology and architecture solutions to meet performance goals. Additional responsibilities include supporting initiatives such as enhancing wireless network security, virtualizing network functions, and enabling new applications for future services, including IoT. The role oversees engineering activities in the lab for testing and validating new wireless technologies, integrating architectures, hardware, software, and protocols into complete network configurations, and coordinating with vendors to test firmware, software, and hardware for wireless solutions. It also includes constructing test plans to validate functional, performance, and business requirements, deploying new test tools and automation frameworks, and formulating testing strategies for future technologies. The position requires providing timely updates to leadership, offering day-to-day guidance and mentoring to team members, ensuring accurate project estimates and on-time delivery, and collaborating with vendors and engineering teams to resolve issues and design flaws. Skills and Requirements 7+ years of related experience Proficient in working and conducting tests within lab environments. Strong understanding of RF hardware and hands-on experience with RF measurement instruments, including Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, and Network Analyzer. In-depth knowledge of LTE and NR protocol layers (L1, PHY, MAC, RRC), including concepts such as OFDM, modulation, timing/synchronization, and random access procedures. Familiarity with RAN technologies such as vRAN, MIMO, and synchronization methods using GPS and PTP. Skilled in configuration and management of radio, BBU, DU, and CU components, including handling eNB/gNB setups. Broad experience with wireless access technologies and core networking elements, including routing, switching, and security. Operational experience with 4G LTE and 5G networks preferred. BSEE/Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering
