Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility.
Volunteer Title: Resort Ambassador Volunteer
Volunteer Commitment: 14 days
Volunteer Summary:
Resort Ambassadors are outgoing individuals with a passion for Copper and our guests. They must be guest service oriented, knowledgeable about the resort, its facilities, activities, events, lifts, familiar with Summit County events and recreational activities. A smile is a must. Resort Ambassadors exemplify a professional and friendly image to all employees and guests. They must be strong communicators and reflect Copper in a positive light.
Candidates must be able to commit to volunteering a minimum of 14 days throughout the season (Mid November through Mid April). Candidates must be able to volunteer for shifts that include weekdays, weekends and holidays. Shifts are between the hours of 8am-4:30pm with one hour for lunch. All candidates must also be available to attend and complete a day long orientation and training. Ability to ski/ride at an advanced intermediate level is a must. Past summer and/or winter experience at Copper is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Resort Ambassadors are an integral member of the Resort Services team.
Resort Ambassadors are expected to meet, greet and engage in conversation with all our guests as they arrive on the resort. Resort Ambassadors help to guide our guests as well as answer their many questions.
Will be assigned specific daily expectations in the base villages and on the mountain delivering exceptional service, accurate information and enthusiastic assistance.
Ability to provide daily ski/ride mountain orientation tours and/or snowshoe tours.
Supports events, promotions, services and activities throughout the resort by dissemination of accurate and helpful information which in turn supports strategic partners and the resort’s mission.
Interact professionally with other departments throughout the resort and promote a team play atmosphere.
Reports to the appropriate resources any injuries or unsafe conditions that may exist both on mountain and base areas.

Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper “culture” with our guests and employees.Upholds the most professional image.Continually strives to exceed our guest’s expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.

Basic Requirements:
Ambassadors must be of good physical and medical condition, be able to walk, stand and ski/ride for extended periods of time at 9600 feet and above, on paved and natural surfaces, and must be able to volunteer outdoors in winter conditions.
Must be able to read Copper Mountain literature & forms
Must have the ability to deal with all levels of activity for long periods of time
Must be able to speak clearly and have adequate hearing ability for conversations in a noisy environment
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
If a potential Ambassador is not a strong skier/rider they may be considered as a snowshoe Ambassador and will be asked to meet/greet in the base area, lead snowshoe tours and other duties as assigned that will satisfy daily requirements.
