WILDLIFE AND FISHERIES TECHNICIAN A-C/ HABITAT STEWARDSHIP/ CONCORDIA This Wildlife and Fisheries Technicians A-C Career Progression Group position based at Richard K. Yancey Wildlife Management Area (WMA) that receives direct supervision from a Technician Supervisor. This position is responsible for performing tasks associated with the daily operation of Richard K. Yancey WMA, but occasionally is tasked with work assignments at other WMAs and/or Refuges throughout the state. Working in the field, out of boats, occasionally on weekends and nights, and in inclement weather will also be required. This position is designated as training series technician, and as such performs duties from entry level up to and including the more advanced duties of the Technician C level. Incumbent is responsible for assisting in facility management, collection of biological research data, and maintenance/development projects on or associated with Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), Refuges, or programs. The position requires some strenuous physical activity; including the occasional lifting of objects over 50 pounds and crouching or crawling in restricted areas. The incumbent may occasionally be required to stay overnight for multiple days at remote areas, work at night and travel to work sites throughout Louisiana. Job Duties and Other Information JOB DUTIES • Properly marks and maintains WMA boundaries. • Implements maintenance and repair projects that may include basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, and mechanical duties. • Duties include conducting stewardship activities, and maintenance of facilities on Wildlife Management Areas. • Assists in the collecting of biological data via hunter bag checks, fishing creel checks, water level data, assist with managed hunts, conduct trapping and banding projects, etc. • Conducts other duties as assigned by supervisory and biological staff. Complete time and attendance and purchasing logs. POSITION- SPECIFIC DETAILS: Location: This position will be domiciled in Concordia Parish.
