**Aerotek is seeking a Mechanic Trainee** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic Trainee to support our shipping department, machining, and welding areas. You will assist in the refurbishment/assembly of Plated Heat Exchangers, performing tasks ranging from minor assembly to cleaning work areas. **Responsibilities** + Constant lifting, moving, and stacking of materials + Receiving, counting, documenting, and labeling parts + Sweeping, cleaning, and organizing work areas + Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints + Grabbing materials or tools for assemblers/welder + Being an extra hand ready to help + Inspecting, photographing, and documenting irregularities in materials + Following directions with strong attention to detail **Essential Skills** + Mechanical skills + Assembly experience + Experience in a Manufacturing environment + Hand and Power tool experience + Strong hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + At least 2 years as a welder helper or in assembly/mechanical roles + Automotive mechanic experience is advantageous + High School Diploma required + Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred + Stable work history **Why Work Here?** This opportunity allows you to work within a dynamic team in a manufacturing environment focused on refurbishing heat exchange units. Shifts currently 2-12pm (10 hours), potentially extending to 12 hours, including weekends as needed. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NW Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
