Job DescriptionJob Summary
If you enjoy learning new technologies, traveling and have a passion for water, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for. The Water Engineering Program (WEP) is an exciting entry point for recent engineering graduates with interest in the Water business, and the rotational engineering stream allows engineers to be exposed to multiple roles within our North America Projects Business. This program develops technical problem-solving and leadership skills through project work through the bid, execution and start-up phases with a
significant focus on practical experience.
During the 3 year program duration, the first 18 months will be devoted to practical experience while working with Veolia’s Commissioning or Pilot teams where you will spend considerable time working at Veolia’s customer sites starting up various technologies and systems across a variety of markets (Municipal, Industrial, Food & Beverage, Microelectronics). You will develop significant technical experience across several engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, process and controls/automation.
The remaining 18 months are office-based where you will focus on a specific technical discipline for 12 months in either the commercial or execution phase of Veolia’s projects in addition to a 6 month rotation with a business-focused discipline. Examples of engineering rotations are: Applications Engineering, Project Engineering, Process Engineering and Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering. Examples of business-focused rotations are: Project Management, Finance, Product Management, Sales/Commercial.
The WEP is designed to provide in-depth exposure to Veolia’s major product lines, integration with project execution teams, as well as integrated formal training. This role prepares new graduates for a wide variety of roles within the Veolia WTS business.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Understanding of multi-step processes, and their interdependences.Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs (including material balances), and where required electrical drawings.Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team and department projects.Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment.Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with co-workers and customers.Ability to travel within North America (Canada, US, Mexico) and valid drivers licenseAbility to perform light manual tasks on-site including lifting and using hand/power tools.Education & Experience
Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree.Previous internship or other experience (prior to graduation) in the water/wastewater industry would be considered an asset.Fluency in English (written and verbal) required. Fluency in French would be considered an asset.Working Conditions
Months 1 to 18 of the program: Travel within North America to Veolia customer sites is estimated at 70-80% of the time. Veolia covers all travel costs. Interaction with water and wastewater. When not traveling, you will be based out of a Veolia office.Months 19-36 of the program: primarily based out of a Veolia office.
