Wellsite Geologists
Air Swift
Airswift is looking for a Wellsite Geologists to join a leading energy company in Trinidad & Tobago on a 1 year temporary contract.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collect and review required well reference data, subsurface technical package, correlation/offset logs, maps, and forecasts, and familiarize yourself with any operational issues encountered in offset wells (to be provided by the Operations Geo prior to well startup).
• Ensure cuttings samples are collected and described in accordance with the Geological Operations Plan. Provide detailed interpretive descriptions of all cuttings.
• Support Non-Productive Time (NPT) root cause analysis investigations.
• Responsible for quality control of geological operations in the Well.
• Advise on potential geological hazards.
• Act as data acquisition coordinator for service providers: Logging While Drilling (LWD), wireline logging, mud logging, and drilling operations. Inform the service company team of program revisions in a timely manner.
• Inform Measurement While Drilling (MWD) personnel, mud logging personnel, and directional drillers of all subsurface data and program requirements. Control the quality of all subsurface data.
Act as a liaison between the well leader and the mud logging team, ensuring the team is informed and focused on key geological and operational issues.
• Provide geological interpretation of the mud log as needed to manage operations and when total depth is reached.
• Ensure the company database is updated as requested by the COMPANY representative.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree Senior professional with extensive experience as a wellsite geologist. Exploration experience is desirable. Offshore experience in the Trinidad and Tobago Basin. Flexible work schedule; work hours vary depending on the duration of the drilling activity, for which the wellsite geologist candidate will be available as requested by the operations geologist. Proven track record of safe behavior and active participation in rig safety programs and culture. Excellent behavioral and communication skills are crucial for safe and successful well execution.
