**Job Summary**
The Wellness Specialist is responsible for supporting and promoting employee health and wellness programs at the facility. This role involves organizing wellness activities, providing education on health initiatives, and supporting occupational health efforts. The Wellness Specialist works closely with employees and healthcare providers to implement wellness initiatives that enhance employee well-being and promote a healthy workplace culture.
**Essential Functions**
+ Coordinates and supports wellness programs, including health screenings, fitness challenges, and educational workshops for employees.
+ Collaborates with healthcare providers, wellness coaches, and occupational health professionals to support employees' wellness needs.
+ Maintains records of employee participation in wellness activities and tracks the effectiveness of wellness programs.
+ Provides one-on-one support to employees regarding health concerns, lifestyle changes, and participation in wellness initiatives.
+ Organizes wellness events, such as health fairs, flu shot clinics, and fitness programs, to engage employees in health-promoting activities.
+ Promotes a culture of health and wellness through regular communication with employees, encouraging healthy behaviors and participation in wellness programs.
+ Monitors workplace safety and health initiatives, assisting with injury prevention and wellness education.
+ Provides administrative support for occupational health initiatives, including maintaining health records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating follow-up care as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ Associate Degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, Exercise Science, Nutrition, Nursing, or a related field required
+ 1-3 years of experience in employee wellness programs, health education, occupational health, or related fields required
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple wellness initiatives.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees in wellness activities.
+ Knowledge of health and wellness principles, including nutrition, fitness, stress management, and preventative care.
+ Proficiency in using computer software for scheduling, record-keeping, and tracking wellness program data.
+ Ability to collaborate with healthcare providers and occupational health professionals.
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support required
+ CHES - Certified Health Education Specialist preferred or
+ Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP) preferred
