Airswift has been tasked by one of our clients to find a Welding Supervisor to join their team on a 1-year contract in Lunenburg, NS.
Role and Responsibilities
To assist the shipyard service operations by managing the welding staff, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating welding projects, and maintaining high quality production standards. The goal is a high-quality product under efficient timelines.
Supervise and coordinate projects of welders and fabricators Inspect completed projects for accuracy and specifications Train and mentor new and existing welding staff Adhere to safety and quality standards Plan and assign welding projects based on production requirements Maintain equipment and arrange repairs when necessary Collaborate with the shipyard yard staff, marine technicians, and operations Ensure compliance with welding codes and safety regulationsQualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum high school diploma Valid CWB Welding Certificate required 5+ years of welding experience 2+ years supervisory experience preferredPreferred Skills
Efficient time management Ability to perform under pressure Ability to adhere to deadlines and time constraints Knowledge of marine service and operations #LI-GV1
