SURF Welding & NDT Engineer
Location: Paris, France
Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Role Overview
An experienced SURF Welding & NDT Engineer is required to support offshore brownfield projects.. The position covers multiple projects in parallel and spans detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases, with a strong focus on welding engineering, materials, corrosion, and non?destructive testing.
The role involves close interaction with contractors, fabrication yards, and internal engineering disciplines, ensuring technical compliance, constructability, and HSE excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical focal point for welding, NDT, materials, and corrosion within SURF work scopes.
Review, validate, and approve contractor documentation including WPS, WPQR, welding procedures, NDT techniques, technical queries, and deviation requests.
Ensure all discipline?related deliverables comply with project specifications, international codes and standards, and HSE requirements.
Monitor and follow up engineering progress, identify risks or deviations, and propose corrective actions.
Interface with contractors and vendors on all welding and NDT?related matters.
Support fabrication and construction activities through technical follow?up and inspection.
Witness welding operations, welder qualifications, NDT execution, and mechanical testing when required.
Review and approve special processes such as heat treatment, induction bending, pickling, and passivation.
Participate in safety and technical reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and project audits.
Assist in resolving technical issues during execution and maintain updated discipline documentation.
Promote safe working practices and ensure confidentiality of technical documentation.
Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
15–20 years of experience in offshore oil and gas projects.
Approximately 10 years in similar roles with strong exposure to SURF or subsea equipment.
Proven expertise in welding engineering, NDT methods, materials, and corrosion.
Solid experience across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.
Strong knowledge of international welding and inspection standards.
Experience working with EPC contractors and fabrication yards.
Ability to operate in a matrix organization and handle multiple work scopes simultaneously.
Fluent English is mandatory.
Willingness to travel internationally to fabrication yards and vendor facilities.
