MP Welding Engineer
Qualifications Qualification: Master’s degree in welding - ESSA / IWE / EWE certifications also required. Professional Experience (number of years) : 15 in a similar position. Experience within project : (number of years) : 10 years of experience associated with topsides fabrication and subsea pipelines laying, including automatic welding process. Confident in ECA and associated testing Comprehensive knowledge in welding, material, corrosion (inc SSCC) and NDE. Good leadership skills and good communication skills. Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment, Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications. H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings. Accountabilities
The job holder is accountable for the following activities during project execution by Major Project Division: To provide welding engineering, metallurgy and non-destructive testing expertise across the different Projects managed by the Major Project Division. To implement the company's Technical Referential and applicable local and international codes. To assist Projects in the execution of the FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, transportation and offshore installation works. To interface with Engineering and Construction Department in particular with the Technical Reference Person (TRP) for the management of Derogation impacting company's Technical Referential.
Job Dimensions
This large-scale offshore development will involve multiple projects executed in parallel over the next five years: Installation of approximately 250 km of subsea pipelines and cables. Construction of multiple new satellite wellhead platforms. Development of a riser platform connected to an existing facility, accommodating risers and flowlines from wellhead platforms, including brownfield modifications. Construction of a central processing platform linked to the riser platform, along with associated flare structure and living quarters. Procurement of long-lead items and construction support for produced water disposal facilities.
The MP Welding Engineer is responsible for the material and welding activities across all Projects, he will be based in the Major Projects premises but will make several missions to the Contractor sites worldwide, or will be re-allocated to Asia for closer support to EPC Packages.
Activities To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other COMPANY HSE procedures in all activities. To carry out work in compliance with COMPANY values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed COMPANY priorities and objectives, COMPANY standards and procedures and good industry practices. To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality. To write Welding Project Particular specifications In case of LLI purchased by the company, to write the technical RFQ for Material and Welding Scope of Work To review and validate the Welding matrices, Welding Procedure Specifications, Welding Procedure Qualification Records, Welding Book, Production Tests, Heat Treatment process. To participate in the different Contractors and Critical Vendors Kick Of Meetings and Pre-Inspection Meetings. To be involved in the Surveillance and Inspection activities. Witness welding qualifications, welders qualification and test laboratory, as required. To assess performance of dedicated personnel for welding. To review and validate the Non Destructive Testing Procedures and method statement guidelines. To review / approve Welding and Material documentation using EDMS To promote Quality in the Projects and provide Quality and Technical advices. To participate in the resolutions of the Technical Queries, Deviations Requests, NCRs and Concessions Requests. To lead investigations of significant Quality failures. To lead or participate on qualification/assessment/technical audits over Suppliers (LLI), Contractors, and Vendors. To provide weekly & monthly status reports including KPI’s to Head Projects QA/QC on welding engineering, metallurgy, and non-destructive testing. To participate in the Project Close Out. To issue any lesson learnt, Quality Feed Back Notice or Feedbacks affecting Welding, Metallurgy and Non Destructive Testing. Major Projects involve the development of new offshore platforms bridge linked to the existing facilities, installation of subsea pipelines and debottlenecking of the produced water treatment, all these activities could be executed across several international sites. Projects will require complex interfaces with other entities of the company. EPC execution shall take place at Contractor premises. Possibility of multiple worldwide missions including offshore to be anticipated.
