Responsibilities:
Cut, shape, fit, and join metal components using a variety of hand and power tools to create assemblies and structures.
Perform precision welding (including out-of-position welds) using processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick on various materials like steel and aluminum.
Accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project specifications and material requirements.
Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and aligning parts, ensuring all dimensions and tolerances meet the specifications.
Conduct precision inspections and non-destructive tests (NDT) on finished welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding machines and fabrication equipment (e.g., plasma cutters, press brakes) to ensure optimal functionality.
Adhere to all company and industry safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Complete all required quality control and manufacturing paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Current or previous AWS certification (e.g., D1.1 for Structural Steel or similar).
Experience with specialized processes such as pipe welding (6G position) or pulsed GMAW.
Advanced understanding of metallurgy and the properties of different materials (e.g., stainless steel, various grades of carbon steel).
Experience operating heavy shop equipment such as shears, press brakes, ironworkers, and overhead cranes.
Experience with fitting up and fabricating complex, multi-component assemblies.
