Job Description:

As a Welder, use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Welders understand the welding machines including design, uses, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities:

Plan fabrication jobs by interpreting work orders and collecting the required materialsPerform welding, cutting, and burning to fabricate components to specificationOperate material handling equipment, such as overhead cranes, safely and efficientlyConduct in-process quality checks to maintain high standardsCommunicate equipment malfunctions or material defects to supervisionContribute to general production tasks as needed

Education: High School

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 6 months

Physical:

Ability to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand for extended periods of time

Skills:

WeldingWelders understanding of welding machines and tools including design, uses, maintenance and repairUnderstanding of metallurgyAbility to weld components that are vertical, flat or overheadAbility to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of formsBasic understanding of mathematics as related to welding
