Location: New Holland, PA

Hours: 3rd Shift, M-F 10pm to 6:30am (if overtime is required it is worked before regular shift starts)
Overview
Weld components and units with specified size and type of weld, proper strength and neat appearance.
Responsibilities
1) Work from orders, blueprints, route and method sheets, and direction from supervisor.
2) Welds together metal components as specified by layout, diagram, work order, welding procedures, and oral instructions, using electric wire feed welding equipment.
3) Obtain welding, fixtures and positioners from storage, identify by part or tool number, as indicated on route sheet.
4) Weld beads of prescribed length, radius, and size to fasten elements securely together to meet specifications and leak proof seams when required.
5) Weld elements to make regular and irregular, eccentric, and symmetrical weldments of simple, or design.
6) Vary amperage and voltage to obtain quality weld at maximum linear speed consistent with good.
7) Obtain accurate angular, dimensional and spatial relationships, within specified limits, by careful a fixture, proper positioning, clamping, and checking of parts in fixture.
8) Strikes arc, which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
9) Manually guides gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
10) Welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
11) Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece using wire brush, portable grinder or chemical bath.
12) May cut metal plate or structural shapes using oxy/acetylene torch.
Work is primarily achieved by following clearly defined processes or procedures. Progression within classification is reflected by exhibiting greater knowledge, increasing productivity and taking the initiative to streamline processes.
Requirements
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Possesses the knowledge and skill to deliver business objectives. Demonstrates competency in various areas and expresses a desire to learn and develop. Actively involved in and expresses enthusiasm for objectives set by the workplace.
+ Actively works towards the common goals of the team. Demonstrates a wiliness to help others, share knowledge, and support team decisions. Respectful to all work colleagues and workplace deadlines. Maintains positive approach to attendance and adheres to attendance policy.
+ Committed to successfully completing tasks by following clearly defined processes or procedures. Disciplined in 5S, Safety, Quality and Environmental improvement efforts. Demonstrates a positive attitude, willingness to change, and is open to a challenge. Adheres to workplace expectations regarding suggestions for improvement.
