Welder
Performs welding processes to repair, modify, and install shipboard pipes, structures, foundations, and fittings for hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems.
Qualifications
3 years of experience working under a skilled welder
Qualified in at least 5 welding/brazing processes
Ability to perform Plasma Arc Cutting, Carbon Arc Cutting, Oxygen/Acetylene Cutting, and SMAW
Knowledge of basic setup, adjustment, and operation of welding equipment and hand tools
Ability to select proper welding filler materials, joint design, and heat ranges as directed by Technical Work Documents
Ability to travel as required
Responsibilities
Report to Production Manager and take operational direction from project Foreman
Follow corporate, federal, state, and local safety regulations before operating machinery
Read and interpret blueprints to plan machine setup and welding operations
Execute work in accordance with QA packages, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, and TGIs
Notify Foreman of unsatisfactory conditions during production operations
Interpret terminology, blueprints, drawings, and schematics for installation, modification, or repair
Fabricate and install fixtures, jigs, supports, and targets to ensure alignment during welding
Select filler materials, joint design, heat ranges, and welding procedures to meet Technical Work Document requirements
Pay Details: $26.00 to $32.00 per hour
