Job Summary: Looking for an experienced Production Welder for setting up and running low volume production work. Must be a team member putting forth safety and quality foremost in daily assignments. This is a full-time position working 1st shift which is 5:30am - 4:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday. General Overview of Position
The position of Senior Welder reports to the area Supervisor. Responsible for welding a variety of component parts and assemblies. Maintain production and quality standards under minimal supervision. This role will be the resident expert for welding, at times working with engineering to answer questions.What you will do:Position ResponsibilitiesWeld a variety of component parts and assembliesComfortable using the following equipment & tools, welders, inspection tools, jigs, fixtures, pallet jacks and hoists.At times, work with engineering to answer welding questionsUse time clock as required to record time.Order consumable parts using order system.Work in a safe and clean manner using 5S principles.Stage welded parts and assemblies in a neat and orderly fashion.Complete required information for the data collection of yields and efficiencies.Using Oracle software to complete WIP jobsPackage parts as requiredRedline process and procedures as required.Perform routine preventive maintenance to equipment.Other duties and/or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basisPosition RequirementsAbility to read and interpret welding drawingsCheck own work for accuracy Ability to MIG and TIG weld Ability to weld steel, aluminum, and stainless stee lWelding of parts or components to make top level assemblies. Work from prints or other specifications, adjusting, fitting, and aligning to meet print tolerances Occasionally make jigs and fixtures Excellent communication skills.Weld per shop instructions and drawings Ability to work independently or with team. Ability to reach and maintain prescribed productivity levels for WIP jobs.High school diploma or GED and welding experience. Technical degree / certificate is a preferredEssential Job FunctionsAbility to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and periodically climb up and down ladders. Frequently bending, kneeling and reaching.
