+ Repairs defects on castings by welding as per required specifications. + Takes appropriate care to Howmet’s tools and equipment. + Consults the router to certify the piece. Checks the instructions to locate the required repairs. + Adjusts the welding equipment for the type of repairs required (location and thickness) and performs a high-quality weld following the proper welding technique. + Follows all the necessary safety measures in performing the work and informs co-workers of any safety precautions. + Performs pre and post weld blend and preparation operations on castings using hand and bench mounted tools as required. + Ensures that all the required documents of the router have been stamped and signed when the welding repairs have been completed. + Performs other duties as required. + Respects the values and code of ethics of the company. + Respects the Environment, Health & Safety programs of the company. + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. + Ability to handle hoists + Visual dexterity + Manual dexterity + Ability to use measuring instruments + Uses sound judgment + Professional High School Diploma with welding certificate or High School Certificate with 5 years of Aluminum TIG welding experience.
