Job Description

Join our team as a Welder where you will be responsible for erecting structural steel across multiple projects. This role involves traveling to various sites throughout the lower mainland and performing welding tasks in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. You will secure necessary jigs, fixtures, and filler materials to properly execute welding operations, maintain a safe work environment, and participate in safety meetings.

Work Environment

This position operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime. Work is conducted outdoors in all weather conditions, collaborating with four crews, each consisting of 2-3 people. A positive and supportive environment is maintained, emphasizing team collaboration. Necessary equipment includes a welding pouch, chipping hammer, gloves, and a helmet. We offer rides to work sites when possible to save costs for our employees. Our organization is known for its stability, having not laid off employees in over a decade.

Responsibilities

Erect structural steel for multiple projects.Travel to various sites throughout the lower mainland.Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.Secure necessary jigs, fixtures, and filler material for welding operations.Maintain a clean and hazard-free work site.Participate actively in safety meetings.Weld structural and miscellaneous steel such as canopies and awnings on buildings.Conduct ironworking, layout, and installation of railings, canopies, stairs, and roof structures.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.

Essential Skills

CWB certification in all positions for SMAW and flux core welding.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols.2-3 years of welding experience, specifically with SMAW and flux-core.Ability to independently lift 50-100 lbs.Must have own transportation and a valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

C Level certification preferred.Experience with ironworking and miscellaneous ironwork.Fall protection certification is a plus.Rigging experience.Installation of structural steel.1 year of field experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
