Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welder. The core hours are 6:15am to 2:45pm.  The hourly rate for this position is 27.17 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Welder position is primarily focused on Welding for our cable tray department. The Welder will direct and assist Assembler II’s with assembling ladders as well as welding the cable tray ladders and fittings. The Welder will handle materials and parts up to 50-pounds frequently throughout the shift. 

Perform simple repetitive tasks and assembly of parts and componentsUse bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devicesOperate welding unit, perform minor adjustments, and weld both aluminum and steelWork under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or engineering drawingsRemove excess weld, slag, spatter, and rough spots from workpieces using grinders, brushes, chisels, or scrapersSupport all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
o    Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas
o    Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor
o    Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibilityQualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications: 

Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitationExperience accurately measuring components and products utilizing tape measures & calipersExperience reading engineering drawings A minimum of 1 year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG)Experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipmentExperience identifying defects and measure workpiece to ensure conformance


Preferred Qualifications: 

Previous experience with manufacturing fabricationAbility to weld aluminum and steelExperience with high volume, fast paced weldingSkills:

Position Criteria: 

Able to stand on feet continuously during working shiftMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure


Physical Demands: 

Able to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 50 lbs. with assistanceRepetitive lifting and movement of small and large products / componentsExposure to high noise level Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activityWork environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents
