Welder - 2nd Shift
**Key Responsibilities** **General** + Receive and interpret assignments, schedules, shop documents, blueprints, and process paperwork. + Obtain raw materials, prepare setups, and organize workflow. + Operate cranes, lifts, and other material-handling equipment safely. + Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition. + Inspect parts, assemblies, and materials to ensure conformance with design and quality standards. + Support corrective action for non-conformance issues. + Perform minor machine maintenance and repairs as needed. + Track work accurately using timekeeping and production systems. **Machine Operation** + Operate and program machining equipment including grinders, belt sanders, lathes, machining centers, saws, threading machines, shears, punches, and plasma cutters. + Prepare and finish materials (grinding, blasting, sanding, washing) for use in fabrication. + Set up machines, produce small and large parts, and route finished pieces to the appropriate next step. **Welding & Fabrication** + Fabricate and weld components such as brackets, cubicles, conservators, turrets, core clamps, and other assemblies. + Perform welding using a range of techniques (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW, brazing, stud welding, oxyacetylene cutting, plasma cutting, air arc gouging). + Use welding positioners, fixtures, and inspection equipment to ensure accuracy. + Conduct weld inspections, repair defects, and verify compliance with specifications. **Skills & Abilities** + Proficiency with overhead and jib cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and related shop tools. + Skilled in reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and shop instructions. + Competence with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and jigs. + Familiarity with a wide range of metals: carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and copper alloys, aluminum, and castings. + Ability to work safely, efficiently, and as part of a collaborative team. **Education & Experience** + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + Prior experience in machining and welding preferred. + Training or certifications in fabrication or welding are a plus. **Why Join Us?** This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, precision craftsmanship, and contributing to high-quality manufacturing.
