Emerson has an exciting opportunity in our Sherman, TX, location to join our team as a First Shift Welder. As a Welder, you will be responsible for producing parts of a high degree of complexity for the Sherman operations.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Perform fabrication welds on pressure vessels within the guidelines of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX. Evaluate and excavate foundry defects on castings and perform repair welds. Interpret CSP documentation. Prepare weld maps. Perform Level I NDE. Perform self-inspections. Operate manual and CNC machines. Perform MRB activities and work with Engineering to problem solve preventive measures of reoccurrence. Maintain a safe and productive work environment. Perform pre and post weld heat-treat. Interpret product drawings. Use inspection and measurement equipment.Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need: High School Diploma or GED. 1 years’ experience performing fabrication welds and major weld repairs on pressure vessels. 2 years machining experience preferred. Candidate must be able to pass a weld test to move forward in the process Candidate must have completed welding through a welding program receiving a combination certification or Structural welding certification or completed applicable formal welding certification. Must be able to read, write, and perform calculations to of 10 square inches of surface weld and over 25% of wall thickness to determine minor or major weld repair. Interpret and understand welding symbols and prints. Qualified to Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for the following processes: SMAW, GTAW Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with internal and external contacts. Ability to do all of the above under stress and deadlines, sometimes without all available resources.
