Overview VTG is seeking a Welder to work in our Fabrication Shop in Virginia Beach. What will you do? + Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. + Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. + Measures, marks, and scribes layout on metals. + Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding. + Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts. + Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. + Utilizes hand tools such as grinders, drills, needle guns, saws, calipers, scribes, combination squares. + Verifies conformance of fabricated layouts and items to the blueprint specifications. + Operate all machines in discipline. Do you have what it takes? Education/Experience: + High School Diploma or GED + Three (3) to Ten (10) years of related experience Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: + Must pass precertification company welding test + Apprenticeship or certification in welding from secondary school is preferred
