**In this role, the Senior Engineering Technologist:**
+ Executes and documents Welding Procedure Qualifications and Weld Procedure Specifications for multiple welding processes and material types in accordance with applicable standards;
+ Executes and documents Welder Performance Qualifications per applicable standards;
+ Provides hands-on training to production welders/operators for manual and/or automated processes;
+ Supports the evaluation and implementation of new fabrication technology (automation, new processes/equipment);
+ Reviews Technical Data Packages (drawings, specifications, etc.) for producibility/manufacturability related to fabrication processes;
+ Provides input to management for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets;
+ Applies lean / six sigma principles to drive improvements to production processes;
+ Resolves manufacturing barriers to meet set objectives of safety, quality, cost, and schedule;
+ Supports accident / incident investigations;
+ Mentors junior engineers and engineering technologists;
+ Facilitates touch labor training initiatives;
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering, Weld Engineering Technology, Metallurgy and 4 years experience or equivalent experience
+ Working experience with GMAW, GMAW-P, and automated/mechanized welding processes (Aluminum and Steel)
+ Experience creating or supporting the creation of PQRs and WPSs
+ Experience executing Welder Performance Qualifications
+ Experience working to AWS D1.1, D1.2 or similar standard
+ Experience administering/supporting a training curriculum
+ Proficiency in typical computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Project, Excel)
+ Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Certification and experience working as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (or equivalent)
+ Experience working with a DoD or other U.S. Government customer
+ Proficient in AutoDesk / AutoCAD
+ Proficient in ProE / Wildfire software
+ Current or prior welding certification / qualifications
+ Process / Product validation experience using formal methodologies
+ Strong technical problem solving skills
+ Experience with weld software programs
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
