BAE Systems is seeking an entry level Weld Process Engineer I to support our weekend Shift Weld Operations with processes for new welded assemblies as well as supporting continuous improvement efforts on existing products. In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business onsite at our Aiken, SC facility. As a Weld Process Engineer I, you will: + Working under general supervision, you will have the opportunity to perform professional technical work that involves basic knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing concepts, techniques and practices. + Contribute to design review and provide feedback to ensure producibility of welded assemblies. + Support weld relevant projects and work under general supervision. + Provide production support of weld and weld support processes. This includes deox, sandblast, mig and tig processes for aluminum and steel based on engineering drawings. + Document processes in routings within the Oracle ERP system and collaborate with Work Instruction Authors to provide clear and concise Standard Work Instructions. + Assist in providing effective and timely production engineering support to address technical issues. + Support continuous improvement opportunities to positively impact Quality and Cost metrics. + Support the world class safety performance and culture at BAE Systems by actively seeking to improve workplace safety and ergonomics. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + This position typically requires an associate s degree (e.g., Manufacturing Technology, Weld Engineering, Applied Technology, Welding Degree, etc.) and 2 years experience; High School Diploma/GED and 4 years experience; or a relevant bachelor s degree with no experience. + Must be able to work a weekend shift Friday through Sunday (5AM-5:30PM) + Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints + Experience with the following weld processes GMAW & GTAW + Ability to work effectively in a team environment + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Computer literacy to include MS Office applications including Word and Excel. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Experience in a Weld and Fabrication manufacturing environment + Experience with aluminum and steel (AWS D1.1 and D1.2 or similar Weld Code) + Basic understanding of GD&T\#LI-Onsite #LI-JR1 **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $57866 - $98372 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
