Job Summary:Check accuracy of freight description while patrolling dock operations in peak freight movement periodsDetermine proper weight classes in accordance with the national Motor Freight Carriers guidelines, correct errors based on physical inspections and measurements of density where appropriateWork closely with shift supervisors to encourage reweighs of questionable shipments, including documentation and reporting of correctionsEnter all data into the AS400 system for weights and description changes using Weights and Measurements menusAccompany sales personnel as needed to inform and educate shippers on proper freight description and packaging requirements in conformity with the NMFC rulesConduct special research studies at the direction of management from time to time to support pricing and costing decisionsRegular attendance is required.This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances.
