Purpose of the Role:
The Weight Control Engineer is responsible for collecting, monitoring, and reporting weight and center of gravity (CoG) data for projects to ensure compliance with design requirements, safety criteria, and client specifications. The role maintains weight data-bases and registers, tracks changes in discipline deliverables, and prepares regular weight control reports to support project execution. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Weight Control Engineer liaises with structural, mechanical, piping, and other engineering teams to ensure accurate input and effective control of weight growth throughout all project phases. The position contributes to minimizing project risk during lifting, transportation, and installation activities by providing accurate and timely weight data in line with organization's standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for collecting, managing and monitoring weight related information from all disciplines, creating, maintaining and updating the weight database during all project phases.
Ensure that weight procedures and specifications are adhered to during the design and construction phases.
Coordinate with engineers and project teams to resolve weight-related challenges.
Qualifications / Skill Set:
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
Registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), as Graduate member.
5+ years of experience in Weight Management or related field.
Background in weight management of Fixed/Floating Offshore structures.
Strong knowledge of weight control systems and techniques.
Proficient with weight management database systems and weight analysis tools (e.g. MON, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
Excellent communication and writing skills
