This Mammography Technologist position is part of Cleveland Clinic's Weekender Flex Program and is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for flexibility and increased work/life balance while maintaining their license and/or registration. This schedule allows caregivers to enjoy personal time during the week with family and friends and take care of any errands that will not interfere with a typical day shift schedule. As a Mammography Technologist, you will provide mammography screening, diagnostic, and interventional procedures, along with patient care services at defined levels. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality imaging services.
The caregiver in this role will have a part-time status and be eligible for part-time benefits/PTO, but will be eligible for full-time tuition reimbursement benefits. Join our team and provide exceptional patient care.
**This is a** **weekender position** **with caregivers working weekend days (Saturday and Sundays) from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Review mammography requisition and computer exam forms to determine the type of exam required.
+ Accurately position patients, determine the exposure factors, and operate mammography equipment according to established procedures to obtain a high-quality image.
+ Review processed images to determine quality and the need for additional images.
+ Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and the exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
+ Ensure patients' safety and comfort during and after the exam.
+ Acquire, archive, transmit, and print images via CAD and PACS.
+ Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
+ Report any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.
+ Process billing via RIS.
+ Assist with all policies and procedures required by local, state, and federal law, and with compliance or credentialing bodies (ACR, MQSA, Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, etc.)
+ Assist with instrument calibration and records to ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements.
+ Perform equipment checks to assure proper function of and notify clinical engineering of any equipment malfunctions.
+ Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied with linen and related medical supplies.
+ Provide teaching and mentoring to new hires and students.
+ Strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
+ Rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of Radiologic Technology
+ Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing
+ Certification in Mammography: R.T.(R) (M) (ARRT)
+ Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ Successful completion of 40 hours of mammography training
+ Knowledge of anatomy and related pathological processes
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
+ Experience in Screening and Diagnostic Mammography

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
+ Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
