ROLE:  FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News duopoly is seeking a dynamic Weather Anchor for KUSI’s 5-hour long legacy weekday morning news.  Successful candidate is digitally savvy, excels in ad-libbing and storytelling to drive engagement with viewers across multiple platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accurate and creative producing and reporting of daily weather and traffic forecast to support multiple live hits – using all resources availableAnchors, produces and contributes content to digital platforms including station’s CTV streaming app, website and social media accountCollaborates with producers, assignment desk, digital team to create timely and engaging reports across all platformsMust be able to ad-lib live breaking news with a strong ability to interact with anchors in studioMust be able to report live in the field and turn a pkg as neededStays informed on current news and community events, digital and social trends to improve quality of content and promote station brandDevelops community contacts and a network of news sourcesMaintain strong, professional social media presence to promote station brandAdhere to all company policies to uphold highest level of journalistic integrityAttend station partnerships in the communityAdditional duties as necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

B.A. or B.S. degree preferably in Meteorology, Journalism or related educationPrefer minimum 5 years TV news weather anchor experience in a medium to large market
