Weapons Systems Test Engineer
**Job Description** BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Weapons Systems Test and Evaluation Engineer to join our team. As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, executing, and analyzing component and subsystem reliability tests in support of next-generation products. We work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will work in a matrixed environment, leading other engineers in the development and testing of systems, subsystems and components. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical engineering fundamentals and practical experience in testing and evaluation. As a Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will: + Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment to evaluate component and subsystem reliability + Plan and arrange labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standards and special devices + Provide test area with parameters for sample testing and specify tests to be performed + Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements + Develop and execute component and subsystem test plans to evaluate functionality, performance, and reliability + Lead test setup design, instrumentation planning, and data acquisition (thermal, vibration, and electrical) + Conduct hands-on testing, including thermal cycling, vibration, fatigue, and electrical endurance tests + Support root cause and failure analysis (RCA/FMEA) and drive corrective actions with design teams + Travel to and support testing at external labs and proving grounds (~25% of the time) + Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, including electrical and thermal test protocols + Document and present test results to stakeholders through technical reports and reliability reviews + Support development of in-house test infrastructure In addition, you will help BAE Systems establish constructive relationships with internal and external customers. You will: + Provide technical and managerial briefings to internal and external customers that instill confidence and further the technical reputation of the organization + Deliver results on time and within cost limitations + Balance technical requirements to meet the customer(s) needs + Develop alternative solutions that overcome roadblocks and risks **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 4 years relevant experience. + Experience with system-level validation. + Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on lab and field test environment. + Strong clear verbal and written communication. + Experience developing test plans, coordinating test support requirements across multiple disciplines, test execution and test reporting. + Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. + We may consider candidates with fewer years of experience for a more junior role or additional experience for a more senior role. + This role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Degree in Electrical Engineering or experience with electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting. + Experience in data analysis using MATLAB. + Experience in field assignments and associated travel and operations. + Experience interfacing with customers on significant technical matters. + Field experience with military, remote or harsh tests. + Master s degree in engineering. + Proficiency with common test and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DAQs, thermocouples, multimeters). + Exposure to FMEA, fault tree analysis (FTA), or similar methodologies. + Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with attention to detail. + Understanding of heat transfer, thermal systems, and mechanical stress testing. + Experience with Design of Experiments methodology. + Experience with Earned Value Management. + Working knowledge of reliability statistics and data analysis (Weibull, MTTF).\#LI-Onsite #LI-JR1 **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
