Global Science & Technology (GST) is seeking a WCDAS Station Support Engineer. The WCDAS Station support engineer will be responsible for supporting the engineering staff at the WALLOPS COMMAND AND DATA ACQUISITION STATION (WCDAS) in Wallops Island, VA, and will be responsible for supporting the ground station equipment and operations that provide satellite data for the nation. Current missions include GOES-R, DSCOVR, LEO-T, and GOES-IO.\n

Primary Duties:\n
Engineer supporting engineering activities at the WCDAS. Specific tasks include:\n\nProviding inputs for weekly and monthly status reports.\nSupporting mission-related meetings and anomaly investigations.\nSupporting and conducting RF and antenna measurement activities.\nConducting RFI investigation and mitigation analysis.\nEvaluating and commenting on test plans, technical reports, and documentation.\nReviewing operations manuals and processes.\nSupporting anomaly reviews and technical interface meetings (TIMs).\nCreating system diagrams and technical reports for senior management review.\nProviding recommendations for system improvements.\nSupporting activities related to the specification and procurement of antennas, ground system equipment, and services required to support our missions.\nPerforming equipment testing, acceptance, and integration into antenna ground systems.\nSupporting risk management activities.\nTracking milestones for projects that are at or affect the station.\nSupporting acquisition planning and development activities.\nInterfacing between mission operations technicians and the ground systems projects.\nSupporting Risk Management process activities\n\n

Required Education\/Experience\/Skills:\n\nBS degree and a minimum of 4 years of professional experience or a recent MS degree. Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.\nKnowledge of Project Management, tracking projects in support of OSPO\nKnowledge of RF and antenna measurement activities\nKnowledge of system diagrams\nKnowledge of test plans\nKnowledge of technical reports and documentation\nExperience with measurement test equipment (i.e., spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, etc.\n\n

Salary at GST is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of the GST total compensation package for employees.\n
