Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is actively seeking a highly motivated **Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern** for employment in the **Winnipeg, Manitoba** office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to water/wastewater infrastructure. + Work under supervision of a project manager, contract administrator, and/or senior-level team member. + Participate in design activities including preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications, and cost estimates. + Liaise with equipment suppliers and vendors. + Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy. + Participate in contract administration services during the construction of water infrastructure and facilities. + Perform site investigations, data collection, and analysis activities. + Prepare technical memoranda, contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports. + Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies. + Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with coordination tasks. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Biosystems, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or related field and must be near completion of at least 2 years of study. + Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for this position. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Proficient in the use of desktop computational and design tools including the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, etc. + Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills. + Previous work experience in water/wastewater, civil, or environmental consulting/construction is an asset. + Previous work experience in inspection and field activities is an asset. **Additional Information** + Relocation is not available for this position. + Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
