Job Title: Water Wastewater EngineerJob Description The role involves performing, leading, and managing engineering, construction, and design assignments for various municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects in Metro Detroit. You will direct engineers and technical support staff in reviewing and preparing plans and specifications for these projects. The position encompasses leadership from planning and procurement through startup and construction. Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates, performing construction monitoring, coordinating field activities, reviewing proposed contracts for significant parameters and time schedules, and monitoring fees and budgets while reporting any issues to the appropriate project managers. Responsibilities + Lead and manage engineering, construction, and design assignments for municipal water/wastewater/stormwater projects. + Direct engineers and technical support staff in the preparation of plans and specifications. + Guide projects from planning and procurement through startup and construction. + Prepare cost estimates and perform construction monitoring. + Coordinate field activities and review proposed contracts. + Monitor fees and budgets, reporting problems to appropriate project managers. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. + At least 5 years of experience with municipal water/wastewater projects. + Professional Engineer (PE) certification. + Experience in evaluation, planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with hydraulic modeling. + Project management experience. Work Environment The work environment is characterized by a strong culture that encourages collaboration and celebrations among small offices. The standard office hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. While there is a preference for employees to be in the office for the majority of the week, flexibility is offered for the right candidate who does not require training, allowing for 1-2 days of remote work or travel to job sites. The Waterford office houses 31 employees. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterford, Michigan.
