Water Treatment Operator
Job Description A municipal water treatment facility in Louisiana is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to manage the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of systems utilizing pressure filtration and reverse osmosis (RO) processes. This role ensures treated water meets all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements while maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This is a full-time position that will require shift work and participation in an on-call rotation (7 days on, 7 days off, night shift). Shifts will be 12-hours, and consultants will be paid 1.5x overtime for hours above 40/week. The pay range for this position is between $33.00 - $40.00/hour, and will be determined based on technical qualifications and years of experience. Skills and Requirements High school diploma or GED Valid Water Treatment Operator certification Previous experience in water or wastewater treatment (experience with chemical systems, pressure filters, ground water, or reverse osmosis experience strongly preferred) Flexible for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call work Valid driver’s license Working knowledge of pressure filtration and reverse osmosis processes Familiarity with water quality standards and compliance requirements Ability to read SCADA systems, flow diagrams, and technical manuals Basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills
