Water Supply Planning Engineer/Hydrologist IV:

Job Description: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Serve as a technical resource for the client in the application of concepts, principles, and methods related to long-range water supply planning Utilize industry experience and knowledge to guide planning efforts, collaborate with stakeholders, and make recommendations to upper-level management Collaborate with an engineering team within Water Resources Engineering, and/or specialize in a primary function within Water Resources Engineering Assist the District in regional water supply planning efforts and collaboration with other regional partners Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical resource or advisor Provide direction for the work of technical specialists and technicians Perform tasks related to management of water rights, water use reporting, and water supply contracts Assist in the overall water supply management of the client system. Tasks include, but are not limited to, running forecasts, monitoring system storage and customer demands, providing recommendations regarding potential operational changes, and providing updates to staff and customers Effectively use client software models to run analyses evaluating short-term operations planning and long-range water supply planning. Evaluate results of analyses to determine their validity and interpret results to make recommendations to upper-level management Effectively collaborate with other departments to successfully achieve project-specific and company goals Provide direction to Water Supply Management staff in the absence of the Water Supply Manager on an as needed basis Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products Prepare proposals to obtain professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in an applicable engineering discipline from an ABET/EAC accredited program or B.S. in hydrology or a related field of study Licensed as a Professional Engineer or Professional Hydrologist by the State of Texas, or ability to acquire said license within six months if already licensed in another state.  Valid Texas driver’s license Four plus (4+) years of experience in engineering and/or hydrology Expertise in long-range water supply planning, including evaluation of potential water supply strategies Preferred Qualifications: Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) or Master of Science (M.S.) in an applicable engineering discipline or related field of specialty Project management experience Experience with water system modeling using hydrology software Experience with the State of Texas Regional Water Planning process implementation recommendations ** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
