Job DescriptionAECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to join our Water group in the Albuquerque, NM office. As a Water Resources Project Manager, you will lead technical design teams in creating conceptual layouts and designs for water resources, including dams, floodwalls, land development. Your responsibilities will include managing the preparation of comprehensive construction package deliverables and developing hydrologic and hydraulic models, and permit applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills, mentor junior staff, and develop high-performing teams in a collaborative environment.
Job Description
Responsible for assisting with preparation and successful completion of construction package deliverables (design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, alternatives analysis, technical memoranda, and design documentation reports).Generate conceptual layouts/designs or dams, levees, floodwalls, floodgates, channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, operating ponds, spillways, rock drains, and haulage/access/circulation roads. Designs incorporate erosion control features, geosynthetics, and exposed or sub-surface piping.Provides project leadership in the areas of design, investigation, analysis, and construction of water management systemsServe as lead engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projectsWork with existing and potential clients to provide long-term stormwater management solutionsDevelop project proposals to support and grow the Water practiceProvide direction to and mentoring to other technical staff in completing project tasksPerforms independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on workMay be responsible for Project teams that include 5 or more members often representing multiple disciplines including subcontractor(s)Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the stormwater management projectsConduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and drainage/civil designPreparing and reviewing working drawings, plans, cost estimates, studies, reports, and other work productsAnalysis and design of stormwater drainage system, hydraulic structures, and roadway drainage systemsMust be capable of performing independent tasks, reviewing technical work of othersPresent design solutions to AECOM project teams and clientsAbility to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsQualificationsMinimum Requirements
BS + 10 Years of related experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or educationProfessional Engineer (P.E.) in (NM) or ability to obtain within 6 months of workPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Civil Engineering or related field of study15+ years or more of relevant experienceDemonstrated progressive experience in stormwater evaluation and design (e.g., hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, stormwater management design), construction monitoring and operationsProgressive project experience including task leadership on design and design-build projectsKnowledge of standard hydrologic and hydraulic software programs (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS SRH-2D, etc.) and evaluationsLead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawingsWork with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings including grading, drainage and roadway plans, profiles, details, and sectionsConduct hydraulic analyses and design of channels, culverts, bridges, flow measurement, and flood mappingPerform work in accordance with agreed upon scope, budget, and scheduleScope/estimate complex civil & hydraulics projectsTrack and manage task budgets and schedulesWrite reports and prepare/or direct preparation of detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and referencesMust be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and peopleStrong team leader with excellent interpersonal skills who effectively works with and supports team membersProviding technical support to water infrastructure projects including: design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities.Preparation of technical reports, memos, and engineering design and construction related documents.Twenty (20) years or more of relevant work experience with stormwater management, design and permitting using AutoCAD Civil 3DDemonstrable experience of overseeing or reviewing the engineering designStrong analytical and computation skillsKnowledge of civil engineering design principlesAdditional InformationNo relocation will be provided for this roleSponsorship will not be provided for this roleAbout AECOM
