Water Resources and Stormwater Manager

Freese and Nichols is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Water Resources Design and Stormwater Manager to lead our Lafayette and New Orleans staff from the New Orleans Office. This leader will play a key role in driving the success of our multiple-disciplinary coastal resiliency team of heavy civil, coastal, and stormwater engineering staff. The role focuses on delivering high-quality projects, cultivating strong relationships internally and externally, and advancing our strategic vision for water resource design, coastal engineering, and stormwater management. You will have a leadership role in developing business in the region and maintaining long term sustainable relationships.

Your Impact:
Your leadership will directly impact the development of coastal resiliency infrastructure shaping communities and improving lives through innovative planning and design. 

Key Responsibilities:
Growth and Project Delivery

Work with the Group Manager and respective Practice Leader(s) and National Technical Leader(s) to implement practice growth and national technical excellence goals.Develop and maintain client relationships (including internal clients) and manage sales activities to support the long-term health and growth of the team. Achieve sales goals deployed to the team by the Group Manager or in the amount required for the long-term health of the team.Achieve sales and profitability goals deployed to the team by the Division and Practice to support the long-term Louisiana Business Plan.

Leadership, Management, and Collaboration

Connect with team members across the firm through regular interactions to build a cohesive, engaged team.Partner with the Group Manager and Practice Leaders to identify work-sharing and collaboration opportunities.Develop a vision for team development and help shape annual operating plans and team budgets.

Staff Recruitment, Development, and Technical Excellence

Promote Freese and Nichols' values and culture by actively mentoring and supervising team members.Identify and lead initiatives for continuous improvement in project delivery, client service, and technical practices.Oversee staffing, training, performance reviews, and development of team members.Guide staff in implementing the Freese and Nichols Quality Management System and ensure technical excellence in project work.Identify and mentor emerging leaders and technical experts.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related degree10+ years of experience in technical design, project management, and team leadershipLouisiana PE or PG license or ability to obtain within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the consulting industry in the coastal Louisiana marketProven track record in client service, technical project delivery, and staff development
