Job DescriptionThe SDI Service Technician-III will install and service water purification systems at customer sites. In this
role, you will deliver, set up, exchange, troubleshoot and maintain ion exchange tanks or membrane
systems to customers in commercial and industrial applications. Will service and maintain double-pass RO
and HERO systems and all pretreatment systems, including performing DI system sanitations. Interfaces
with large account customers and provides accurate and timely reports and service recommendations.

Duties & Responsibilities
● Drive truck to deliver ion exchange tanks and water treatment equipment to customer site.
● Ensure that correct equipment required for the daily route is loaded, secured and meets quality
specs. Load and unload tanks on truck and maintains correct inventory on board truck as required.
● Completes Vehicle Inspection Reports for pre-trip inspection.
● Keep accurate accountability of inventory at each site and make changes as needed. Communicates
changes thru the proper channels and follows up to ensure that changes have been made.
● Takes water samples and conducts the following tests including but not limited to TDS, resistivity, pH,
CO2, Cl2, and hardness. Accurately record results and make suggestions or changes as required.
● Performs, operates, maintains and completes calibrations on all industrial, commercial, analytical
instrumentation.

● Rinses ion exchange tanks and membrane systems to customer specifications at sites and ensures
quality specifications are met.
● Performs membrane exchanges, system diagnostics, troubleshoots commercial type RO systems.
● Performs both dry and wet ion exchange tank exchanges.
● Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment to include plumbing, electrical/electronic
diagnosis, pumps and motors, and tank level controls.
● Can perform system sanitations.
● Operates, maintains, performs diagnostics on all industrial type of RO systems, including but not
limited to membrane exchanges, internal and external profiling, instrument replacement,
pretreatment maintenance, chemical metering pum, electrical, relay, I/O A/B.
● PVC repair, electrical/electronic diagnosis, and pump and motor repairs or replacement.
● Maintains good housekeeping at all times, which includes the vehicles and customer sites.
● Follows GE and customer EHS policies and rules.
● Maintains contact with customer on site, communicating effectively, politely, and responding to
their needs. Maintains good customer relationships. Handles customer issues and inquires.
● Assist with equipment or product delivery outside normal scope when needed due to business
levels.
● Trains other employees on duties and responsibilities.
● May be required to be on call during non-business hours.
● Maintains and safeguards company assets (plant, fleet, equipment and inventory).
● Acts as back up to Lead Service Technician.
Required:
● HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
● Minimum of 4 years’ water industry experience in ion exchange, water treatment, reverse
osmosis or membranes and related equipment or in applicable fields such as electrical,
industrial, mechanical, maintenance or plumbing.
● Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record history
● Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs
● Ability to use hand truck and pallet jacks to move heavier loads
● Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions
● Ability and willingness to: read, and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and regulations; to
write reports; to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
● Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial
facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
● Associate’s Degree in electrical, industrial / mechanical, engineering, or water treatment
disciplines
● Forklift certification/experience or ability to obtain forklift certification.
● Knowledge of commercial and industrial membrane systems and UV systems.
● Vocational training in applicable fields such as electrical, industrial/mechanical maintenance,
water treatment, plumbing
● Class A License preferred
● Knowledge of PLC logic/programing.
● Knowledge of ion exchange and membrane theory and operation, as well as pretreatment
applications.
● College coursework in chemistry
● Experience driving company vehicles such as panel vans or service trucks
● Forklift certification/experience or ability to obtain forklift certification.
● Ability & willingness to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs
