QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed in the water and wastewater operator occupation in either water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment or wastewater collection. Consideration may be given to a career-focused individual possessing a high school diploma/GED, proven technical aptitude, and committed to pursuing journeyperson certification and/or studies in environmental sciences.  Prior experience in wastewater treatment operations, process line operations and/or lab analysis would be considered an assetClass 1 Driver's License would be considered an assetPossess excellent mathematical and computer skillsAbility to work with minimal supervision in a small team environmentPossess strong organizational and time management skills Ability to accept and embrace change in a fast-paced environment Successful completion of a 90 day training period

 

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for belt pressMonitor and operate the facility in a safe and efficient manner Support third party consultants and help maintain compliance with provincial and federal regulationsEnsure paperwork is completed accurately and neatlyTake and record readings from instruments and collect samples Analyze and interpret readings and make any necessary adjustments to equipment Work effectively with production and maintenance supervision Perform all other duties as they arise

 

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate “safety first.”  Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments.  Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal.  Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.

Compensation Package:  -  Starting at24.40 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts 

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
